Compensation from a single source, since 2012

greeNature solutions has been a nationwide service provider for the professional management of compensation land in species and nature conservation since 2012. We see ourselves as a partner between landowners, project developers with a compensation obligation, and authorities. The aim is to speed up permitting processes and move construction, transport and infrastructure projects forward safely and efficiently.

Alongside classic compensation management, we manage complex energy and infrastructure projects and provide comprehensive services in geodata management and GeoIT. In this way, nature conservation, planning and technical requirements interlock instead of being handled separately.

Our approach

We develop solutions from a single source that are ecologically sound and economically viable. Our scope of services includes:

1. Compensation areas and eco-points. Provision of verified sites and eco-points from existing, officially approved eco-accounts.
2. Compensation and replacement measures. Implementation of measures under nature conservation and forestry law, including replacement afforestation.
3. Species protection. Implementation of advance compensation measures (CEF) and measures to secure conservation status (FCS) under § 44 and § 45 BNatSchG.
4. Coordination with authorities. Full coordination with the lower nature conservation authorities and ensuring the project is capable of being permitted.
5. Management and monitoring. Long-term management, development and documentation of the measures over the entire commitment period.
6. Geodata management. Integrated geodata and GIS management, from data capture through to export for the authorities.

Regional expertise, nationwide presence

Our strength lies in the combination of nationwide coverage and regional presence. With offices and project teams in southern, central and northern Germany, we have points of contact who are familiar with local conditions, administrative structures and the particular features of the natural region.

This is not a side issue: the impact mitigation regulation is set out in the Bundesnaturschutzgesetz, but the assessment procedures are state law. Bavaria calculates in value points under the BayKompV, Hesse and Saxony use the habitat-value procedure, and Brandenburg assesses mainly through a verbal-argumentative approach. Anyone compensating nationwide has to master these systems in detail and know the responsible authorities. You will find an overview of the procedures by state under Federal states.

That ranges from determining the requirement and securing land, through project management, to the long-term management, upkeep and documentation of the compensation areas.

With modern GIS technology, we make every process fully traceable. This means project developers always keep an overview of the status of their compensation measures, and the authority receives documentation in the form it needs for its assessment.
