Major projects in detail

Project developer: TenneT TSO GmbH and TransnetBW GmbH. Client: R&K Ingenieure GmbH. Cooperation partner: GI Geoinformatik GmbH. Period: 2019 to 2024. Project size: around 700 kilometres of route length, working area of over 70,000 hectares.

The brief was the development and management of the geodata processes for the nature conservation surveys that feed into the planning approval documents. greeNature took on the management of the geodata process, the role of solution architect, and the interface management between specialist requirements, technical requirements and the surveying offices carrying out the work.

Implementation was based on an ArcGIS Enterprise platform:

  • building geodata infrastructures and GIS data models
  • automated checking, handover and archiving routines, including the integration of right-of-way matters
  • GIS data quality management with automated checking of geometry, structure and attributes
  • a central geoportal with integrated WebGIS and individual access rights management for all parties involved
  • interfaces to systems such as FME and LaRA
  • right-of-way maps for local public notice and for letters to landowners

Project developer: ARGE ILF/Arcadis, main client Amprion GmbH. Client: R&K Ingenieure GmbH. Cooperation partner: GI Geoinformatik GmbH. Period: since early 2024, ongoing. Project size: around 600 kilometres of route length, working area of around 30,000 hectares.

Here too, greeNature is responsible for the development and management of the geodata processes for the nature conservation surveys in the planning approval documents: geodata infrastructure and data models on ArcGIS Enterprise, automated technical solutions for checking, handing over and managing the data, GIS data quality management, access rights management, and interfaces to the client, including a SharePoint connection.

What these projects show

Compensation in a major project rarely fails because of the individual measure, but because of the data situation: surveys from several offices, changing planning states, requirements from several permitting authorities. We apply the same systematic approach that kept over 100,000 hectares of working area robust in SuedLink and Rhein-Main-Link in smaller projects too. More on this under Geodata management and Project management.
