Eco-points and compensation areas in
Rhineland-Palatinate
Eco-points and compensation areas immediately available throughout Rhineland-Palatinate, assessed under the State Compensation Ordinance (LKompVO). greeNature operates nationwide and knows the compensation practice of the Rhineland-Palatinate nature conservation authorities.
Assessment under LKompVO
Rhineland-Palatinate covers around 19,858 square kilometres and is divided into 24 districts and 12 independent cities. Administrative regions have not existed since the administrative reform in 2000. It is shaped by the upland areas of the Eifel, Hunsrück, Westerwald and Taunus, the Upper Middle Rhine Valley, the Pfälzerwald as a large contiguous forest area, and the climatically favoured wine-growing areas along the Rhine, Moselle and Nahe.
The State Compensation Ordinance (LKompVO) is decisive for statutory nature-conservation compensation. It sets out the impact mitigation regulation under §§ 13 to 15 BNatSchG in detail and is supplemented by the practical guide for determining the compensation requirement, applicable since 2021. Impact and compensation are determined via an integrated biotope assessment with biotope value points. greeNature allocates your impact to the applicable assessment and provides suitable compensation areas and eco-points.
Advance compensation measures can be stockpiled as an eco-account under § 8 LNatSchG. The eco-accounts are maintained by the locally responsible lower nature conservation authorities. Impact, compensation and eco-account areas are recorded statewide in the compensation register (KSP).
