Why we do not offer a calculator

An eco-points calculator that spits out a number from two inputs could be built. It would just be wrong. The compensation requirement results from the impact assessment under the assessment procedure of the relevant federal state, and this takes into account habitat types, soil functions, water balance and, in several states, additional surcharges and deductions. Without knowledge of the site conditions, any figure is a guess.

What we do instead: you describe your project, and we assess it. You get an assessment from people who know the procedure, rather than a figure that will not hold up in the permitting procedure.

What you get from us

• Which set of rules applies. BayKompV, BKompV or the compensation ordinance of your state, depending on the location and the responsible permitting authority.
• Which route fits. Eco-points from a recognised eco-account, your own compensation area, or a combination of both.
• Whether anything is available in the natural region. We check availability in the major natural region and district of your impact.
• What else applies. Whether species protection CEF or FCS measures are needed, and whether replacement afforestation under state forestry law also applies.
• How it fits the timetable. In particular the lead time for measures that must be effective before the impact takes place.

What helps us

The assessment is most robust if you tell us the district or municipality of the impact, the approximate size of the impact area, and the stage reached in the permitting procedure. If an impact assessment already exists, feel free to tell us the compensation requirement in value points. We will clarify everything else in conversation.

The assessment is free of charge and non-binding. We do not pass on your details and store them only for as long as we are processing your enquiry.
